Dr. Emily Carroll is the President and Managing Partner of Janus Analytics, LLC. She earned her Ph.D. in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, her MSHS in Public Health from Touro University (California), her MA in Political Science from the University of Akron (Ohio), and her BA in Women’s Studies with a minor in Psychology from Bowling Green State University (Ohio).

During her doctoral program, she worked on several assignments related to government, politics, and public policy for Southern Illinois University as a graduate research and teaching assistant and for the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute as the inaugural Graduate Research Fellow.

During her time at the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, she aided senior staff with statewide polls, regional polls, and a project on Illinois’ Senate staff satisfaction which was commissioned by Senate President Cullerton.

Dr. Carroll has collaborated with several other organizations on research and policy matters including the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics, the Institute for Child Success, and UNC-TV, just to name a few. Her expertise has been sought out to help with issues surrounding data collection and management, special research projects, program evaluation, and policy analysis. Dr. Carroll is committed to social justice issues and uses the skills acquired through education and experience to inform public health policy and practice.

Dr.Carroll has provided expert testimony to state legislatures, attended regional and national conferences and convenings of thought leaders to expand her understand of cutting edge methods and policy matters, and received her certification as an ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Master Interface Trainer. But perhaps her biggest professional achievement to date was being recognized by the National Association of Professional Women as a 2015 VIP Woman of the Year for “excellence, leadership, and commitment to her profession, while encouraging the achievement of [other] Professional Women.”
